I started volunteering at SAFE in 2024. My favorite parts are meeting new people and interacting with the clients.
My husband and I moved to Virginia shortly after getting married in 1985. I taught special education for 31 years. After retirement and almost 36 years in Virginia, we moved back to Alamance County to be near family.
I enjoy reading, traveling, and going to movies. I also love cats. I volunteer at Paws4ever with the cats and I help feed a small colony of community cats.
SAFE is a fantastic place that not only offers food to the community but other resources. The volunteers treat the clients respectfully, are approachable and compassionate. The clients are very kind and appreciative. I am proud to be a small part of SAFE.
