SAFE is proud to announce the launch of its new Community Refrigerator Program, designed to reduce food waste and improve access to fresh, healthy produce for residents throughout Alamance County.

Community refrigerators offer a simple and practical way for local farmers to share surplus fruits and vegetables with neighbors in need, simply by placing them in the refrigerator. Anyone experiencing food insecurity is welcome to take what they need from the fridge, free of charge and no questions asked.

The first community refrigerator is accepting fresh produce donations at SAFE’s Hwy 87 location. Additional refrigerators will be placed in other areas of Alamance County in the coming weeks.
