In 2025, SAFE served 8,500 families at its three Alamance County food pantries, providing more than 620,000 meals.
But we're about more than food.
At SAFE, we know that asking for help isn't easy. Whether you're facing an unexpected setback, struggling to keep food on the table, or simply trying to make ends meet, you'll find more than groceries here. You'll find people who care.
Through our choice food pantries, health services, resource navigation, and compassionate relationships, we work alongside individuals and families to address today's needs while building hope for tomorrow.
Each week, more than 200 families walk through our doors looking for food. They often leave with something more: encouragement, connection, and access to resources that can help them move toward greater stability. That's only possible because our community chooses to stand with them. Every donation, volunteer hour, and act of generosity helps ensure that when someone reaches out for help, SAFE is ready to welcome them with dignity, compassion, and the support they deserve.
SAFE's Food Pantries

SAFE operates three choice food pantries in Alamance County. A choice food pantry is set up to resemble a small grocery store and allows individuals and families to shop for the food they want, empowering families to choose items based on their needs and preferences.
To help us better meet the needs of families, SAFE sees individuals and families at all three food pantries by appointment only.
