SAFE is becoming a choice pantry on March 25th, 2025!!  Our choice food pantry will allow clients to take a shopping cart and pick and choose the food of their choice. This allows a shopping experience without the cash register ringing at the end of their shopping!

 

This is an exciting opportunity and will be a big step in realizing our vision of a community without hunger. Over the next two months, we will be sharing more information about what this change will look like and how you can get involved.

 

Facts about this change:

 

-Our highway 87 location will be closed for food distribution between February 23, 2025 and March 25, 2025 so we can set up the choice pantry.  OUR NEIGHBORS WILL NOT RECEIVE LESS FOOD because we are closed.  We will distribute twice the amount of food to our clients on the last day of their regular food pickup before we close for the month.  

 

-Starting on March 25, 2025 clients will have an assigned appointment to shop for their food.   

-Starting on March 25th SAFE staff will update each neighbor’s contact and household information on their first visit to the choice pantry.  This meeting will help us to better partner with our neighbors and get the word out about our other services and community partners.

¡¡SAFE cambiará el modo de operación, a partir del 25 de marzo de 2025!!  Con nuestra nueva modalidad de elección permitirá tomar un carrito de compras y elegir los alimentos de su preferencia. ¡Esto le permitirá replicar la experiencia del supermercado.

 

Esta es una oportunidad emocionante y será un gran paso para hacer realidad nuestra visión de una comunidad sin hambre. Durante los próximos dos meses, compartiremos más información sobre cómo será este cambio y cómo usted puede participar.

 

Datos sobre este cambio:

 

-Nuestra ubicación en la autopista 87 estará cerrada para la distribución de alimentos entre el 24 de febrero de 2025 y el 25 de marzo de 2025 para que podamos configurar la despensa.  NUESTROS VECINOS NO RECIBIRÁN MENOS COMIDA porque estemos cerrados.  Distribuiremos el doble de comida a nuestros clientes el último día de su visita habitual de alimentos antes de cerrar el mes.  

 

-A partir del 25 de marzo de 2025 los clientes tendrán una cita asignada para realizar la compra de sus alimentos.   

 

-A partir del 25 de Marzo, el personal de SAFE actualizará la información de contacto y del hogar de cada vecino en su primera visita a la despensa de elección. Esta reunión nos ayudará a asociarnos mejor con nuestros vecinos y hacer correr la voz sobre nuestros otros servicios y socios comunitarios.
